Born on Cape Cod, Greg Scalise is a native New Englander with a heart for seeing the gospel spread in this beautiful corner of God’s creation. Having been raised in a healthy, Christ-centered church, Greg hopes to see more and more vital, faithful churches built up here in New England.

Greg grew up going to public school on Cape Cod where his high school was within walking distance of the famous lighthouse on the Cape Cod potato chips bag. For college Greg studied philosophy and the classics at Harvard (‘18) and he then continued on to even more school receiving a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from Johns Hopkins University (‘20).

Outside of ministry, Greg has taught English from the middle school level up to college courses. Greg has also worked as a landscaper, camp counselor, oysterman, janitor, land conservationist, proctor, tutor, community band manager, and mason tender. For fun, Greg likes to hike, go to the beach, and diligently manage his two fantasy football teams.

Greg and his wife Marci both study at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where Greg is working towards a Master of Divinity degree and Marci studies mental health counseling. In February of 2022, when Greg was guest preaching at First Baptist Mansfield, he brought Marci to fill in on the piano as a sort of first date. Six months later, they were married.

Greg began serving as Student Pastor of First Baptist Mansfield in the fall of 2022.
